Default Do you know Madrid?

Do you know Madrid? Madrid city or Madrid capital as the Spanish usually say, or the Comunidad de Madrid? Madrid Comunidad covers large rural areas as well as big cities/ towns. Here's some info about the Sierra Norte which might open a new area of interest for some. Even if you don't want to read it there are some great photos.
In Spanish

Here is some info in English about this small area of Madrid

Sadly no, I know nothing about the Madrid region other than a couple of very short visits to the capital. Thanks for sharing the information, it looks beautiful.

Spain is such a vast and varied country, culturally and scenically, that it would take several lifetimes to get to know it all! I'm still exploring my own little corner of Andalucia and discovering new things all the time.

Yes, I know what you mean!
For example, last year we went to Navalcarnero for the first time. It's not worth making a trip especially to visit from a long way away; it's a normal enough town, but we live nearby and we throughly enjoyed this museum
Centro de Interpretación de Navalcarnero (CINC) | Navalcarnero – Turismo
It was well laid out and very interesting and at only 2€ we felt it was well worth it. Then a walk around the area and lunch in a local restaurant, it was a good day out for us.
I have just seen that there is a "ruta de trampantojos" which I'd love to do a later date.

Right now we have to plan days out carefully for although we are on holiday and have the time, we have to plan around the heat as I suppose you do too.

I'm also hoping to go to the Prado, but it's 15€ which I think is outrageous! OH and daughter get in free because they have cards saying they're teachers, but I don't. Hope to get one soon!
