Default E Scooter

Am looking to getting one of these does anyone have any experience of them here in Spain? Can they be ridden legally on the road like a ebike any rules and regs I should be aware of. Its basically just to pop to beach on and just locally as car parking here in Nerja is horrendous. Any info please. (not the whizzing around pedestrian areas with disregard for others type, more sedate type who wants to ease strain on dodgy kneee)

Be very careful - new legislation has just come in regarding these.

I think for the type you're looking at, you will need;

A helmet
Insurance
An AM licence
Registration etc.

Look or ask on N332.es

Thank you. Yes I am fully aware of what I might need I was just wondering if anyone here actually has one and what there experiences are. I see them every day around the area and don't see any helmets or registration/matriculation plates etc. As they are gaining rapidly in popularity I do expect new laws to come in at some stage but interested in what the requirements are as of Today. May alternatively look at an eBike which require none of the above.

n332.es are doing a special feature on the new laws etc, sounds like they are going to be treated as a scooter/small motorbike.

... as I said above - new laws are already with us and people are being fined.

Friend has one, he has been told by the police that he MUST comply

Thanks, had a good read on N332 link and it appears that these laws only apply at present to these scooters if they are above 1000w and capable of 25kph+ which the one I was interested in is, many are below but I think they'd suffer on range. So I think just for the easy life will look at eBikes as non of these current and due laws apply (but will most definitely be wearing helmet and maybe elbow n knee protectors . Thanks all
