Default House Insurance

Hi everyone, House insurance... can anyone recommend a company around the Valencia area who speak English :] My bank are offering a lower rate for my final house payment cheque if I use them but have no idea if their deal will be good until I get a better idea of the true cost. Thank you for any information

Be careful with bank discounts for using their insurances.

My mortgage interest would be reduced if I used the bank's insurance, but the cost of their insurance is so high, I am better off paying the extra interest and getting the cover elsewhere.

I had to (contractually) use the bank provided insurance during the first year, but now I am free!

We had the same with Sabadell bank, they offered a large discount on their obscene charges for a bankers draft. We took out their insurance as it worked out cheaper with the discount. However, we made sure that we gave them 2 months written notice before our renewal date and went with a cheaper company for our 2nd year.

We live in the Alicante region and now use Granalacant insurance brokers, good service & price and they speak English.......https://www.granalacantinsurances.com/
