Lo0oking to purchase a property inVillajouyosa - can anyone tell me the average IBI (Council tax?) costs for that area?

Hi, I think the IB tax is calculated on the property size not the zone.

The cost does vary a lot from area to area & is often based on the plot size and not the house itself.

I think you'll find it has nothing to do with plot size but such issues as location (near main road, near town etc.) and on the size of the buildings.

Here in the Valencian campo, we pay IBI for the house and then an additional 'rural' charge for the amount of land we have (only 18 euros for 7000metres though).


PS. It also depends VERY much on how much of the property is legal! We pay over 900 euros per year for a property of 550m2 but hen we have declared the pool, the outside kitchen, the garage etc. etc. Some with similar properties are only paying 300 euros but then their pool is not registered not their outside kitchen or pool house.

Jesus Ontinyent is expensive !
Where we are I am told that its the plot size that rules the roost & this from a council official.
