The delightful child that gets into the lift last night and starts pressing the buttons for all the floors. It's only when I say something to the parents do they stop the child hitting every single floor. It's fine for them, they get on at the ground floor and off at the 1st. We live on the 19th!

And the filthy animals that are incapable of putting their rubbish in the communal rubbish chute in the building. They'd rather leave their stinking bags of rubbish on the floor of the room for someone else to put in the chute and see how many rats we can attract. Or the ones who use the communal trolleys to get their shopping to their flats, and leave the trolley in the lift rather than take it back to where they got it from. 'Not my problem mate, someone else will clear up after me.'

Oh the joys of living in a tower block, if only I could have the old detached house in the countryside back, life was peaceful back then.

On most lifts, (definitively in my flats) if the number has already been pressed or lit. If you hold the number down it will cancel the stop and carry on through.

Also on some Kone lifts if you hold the close door button it will go straight to the floor you've chosen.

Dammut! If only I'd known how these lifts work.

Coming from the UK, small buildings meant getting to go in a lift was a treat. And people know how to act in a public lift and don't let their beloved little darlings press all the buttons on the wall like the scene in Elf.

I have the same problem not sure how to handle it, it really gets me angry.

I am open to suggestions.

Someone on our floor was nice enough to bring their garbage right outside the chute room and leave it by the door. The chute room is just outside our apartment so we regularly saw garbage in front of our door. Finally, when I had enough, any time someone did that - I would pick up the garbage and bring it around by the elevators for everyone to see. My thought was that perhaps a lazy kid or maid is doing it and if the adults in the apartment see their garbage there, the issue would be resolved.

what do ya know ... it worked!!

I would love to catch whoever is doing it because the bags will all end up back outside their front door.

Sticking it by the elevator is a good plan, with a note on the top saying this is not acceptable.
