Default French Tax Liability

My wife is taking a teaching post in Dubai in January. We are struggling to getcinformation on how best to avoid tax liabilities in France where we are based at the moment. I was wondering if I could remain tax liable in France and my wife in Dubai? Any information gratefully received. Thanks Tom

Tom, I'd suggest posting on https://www.expatforum.com/expats/fr...living-france/ this question.

But I think that as the taxes in France are often based on household and global earnings this 'may' be a little difficult.

I've done similar in that my wife stayed in FR and I worked in Iraq (but paid in Dubai), was informed by the tax office that as there is a double-taxation agreement between FR and UAE that my earnings would not be taxable (especially as I got paid offshore).

I'd really suggest getting an appointment with your Centre de Finances Publiques (Impots) to get the answer straight from the horses mouth.
