Default Update EK Boeing 777 Crash Lands: (Fire at DXB Airport)

Lots of smoke rising close to the EK engineering hangars at Dubai International airport.

Seems to be away from the runways, hopefully it's not an aircraft - can't see from my location as it's behind the hangars.

EMIRATES have confirmed “an incident” at Dubai airport as dramatic pictures of a passenger jet engulfed in thick smoke emerge.

Early reports suggest the Boeing 77 crash-landed at the international airport after flying in from Trivandrum, India.

All passengers are believed to have been safely evacuated.

If it was mechanical failure and everyone survived, that's actually pretty bloody impressive. You could blame a mechanical failure on Emirates, but perhaps not.

IF as we think it was because the landing gear didn't go down, then.... Who does the checks and the maintenance on these planes?

Have to wait and see the outcome. But amazing job of the crew and emergency services getting everyone one off safely and uninjured. The aircraft is completely destroyed though.

Indeed, but aircraft and "Stuff" (luggage etc, can be replaced, people can't.
