Arrow After Election Victory, Australia's New PM Faces Stiff Test

SYDNEY: Australia's prime minister-elect risks becoming a victim of his own success following an emphatic election win that threatens to reopen splits within his conservative coalition.

Tony Abbott and the Liberal-National Party coalition surged to victory on Saturday with a disciplined election campaign that painted a contrast to the country's three tumultuous years under the Labor Party, with its revolving-door leadership of Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard.

Will it affect visa rules or immigration process? As have read in news that it will be tough for indians now to immigrate to Aus after he has become PM

Default Tony Abbot New prime minister (Liberal Win)

Abbott led the Liberal/National coalition to victory on 7 September 2013.

Abbott's win, so any news visa getting easier or harder
Or new rules or type of visa been implemented in the coming future

Other than 457 visa will be revived or easier i guess to get:

Default Tony Abbott won, skilled migration will likely get easier

Last Saturday there were elections in Australia and the predictions appeared to be correct, Tony Abbott of the liberal party won it. Although i'm not the kind of person that would vote for them since their opinions can be a bit extreme, the fact that he won is good for skilled migration. Under his term it is likely skilled migration is going to increase. I one time heard him say he wants to decrease the `boat persons` (=> people from Indonesia that come on land in small boats. ) and increase skilled migration.

I somehow thought he was anti-immigration and things are going to get tougher.
