Default The Clark Baseball fields

Has anyone been to or played at the Clark Baseball fields? They are located at the Clark International Complex at "The Villages at Global Clark". They are absolutely beautiful fields, There are two (2) professional “showcase” baseball fields with MLB dimensions and four (4) wagon-wheel baseball fields for practice use and tournament play. In addition, there are two (2) multi-purpose fields for soccer and rugby and a jogging path.
The Sports Complex houses central field restrooms, bleachers in four of the fields and dugouts in all six baseball fields. There is a jogging path that weaves through the sports complex, a volleyball court, picnic grounds and more.

BUT........there is never anyone there!! Just the groundskeepers.

I'm trying to get together some ball players and actually use the fields and play some ball. Anyone like baseball and want to play?

I can't find any baseball fields anywhere but at that complex. Seems no one plays baseball here in Angeles. It's a pity, Filipinos are basically short yet all they do is play Basketball!!!!! Hmmmmm.....

Strange, I posted a reply to this last night and it is gone. I even saw that it was posted. I'll try again.

Those fields with be used for the Asean games coming up in November. Softball and baseball. You might want to go see some games. There should be some talent there from other ASEAN countries.

They are also refurbishing the Nayong Pilipino park next door, due to reopen in October. It looks like it will be a nice place to visit.

Also being refurbished are the Parade Grounds. I drove by a few weeks ago and they had huges portions of the turf dug up. They are supposed to have archery and rugby 7's there.

We have several sports facilities undergoing refurbishment here in Subic too. It will be a miracle if the finish on time as the game are supposed to start around Nov. 25.

Do you live in Clark / Angeles? My wife want to move there but I don't want to unless I can duplicate the nice quiet neighborhood we have here in Subic. Any suggestions on areas to look?

I heard about those games. Evidently there IS a team that practices here, but I haven't seen them yet. I heard it is run by some Koreans.
I have played with a team in Subic, callled the "Animals". The field was across from the Golf Course. Kind of a jungle field.
I do live in Angeles in a gated community. It's nice and quiet and kind of rural. It's called "Metrogate".
I loved Subic Bay and it's beauty but my GF is in real estate and we figured Angeles was a more lively market for new and more housing.
I may do some postings along "Walking Street" here for any baseball players. Phillies club is a good hangout for foreigners and Americans.
I also noticed there is NO racquetball played here either. I think it would be a big hit.

I think that field across from the golf course is gone now. The golf course is completely renovated and I think they did something with that field. I have seen some kids practicing baseball on the old go cart track area.

I recall Metrogate coming up when I was looking at properties online. The main problem my wife has with Subic is the monsoon rainy season. Have you found the rain to be not so bad in Angeles?

No problems with flooding in Metrogate. It has a nice storm sewer system. Angeles usually doesn't flood except in a few low lying places in town at street level. This year has been very pleasant with the rains coming and going.

The former Clark AFB area is also VERY nice and set among rolling hills and mountains with lots of golf courses. Lots of new construction there but a bit pricey. Mostly leases.

Angeles gets pretty dry the rest of the year and hot.

We don't have a flood problem where we are but 3 months of non-stop monsoon rains starts to wear on you.

At least we gets breaks with the rain here. Me being from New Mexico since 1959 am not used to this kind of rain at all, but things dry out pretty quick here in Angeles. I can still manage to get 3 or 4 days of swimming laps in every week so far.
On a different note, did they close or remove that nice Olympic pool next to the Track and Field in Subic freeport?

No, it is still there. They are building a new building next to the street so you can't see it from the street. Remy field next door is undergoing a huge renovation for the games, as well as Subic Gymnasium. I don't know how they will get them finished in time!

Glad that pool is still there, it's a beauty and I have used it every time I visit Subic Bay. Someone told me they got rid of it and I couldn't believe it. Thnx for the update.

We inquired there about swimming lessons for the kids and may follow up with that. My wife didn't like the fact that it had no shade, but now it will have 4 story buildings on 3 sides and that should give it some shade.
