Many prescription medications are limited in PI if there is any possibility they can be abused. I have no idea if that is possible with anti-anxiety and anti-depressant medications.

The good news is doctors here aren't rockstars with a million dollars in education loans to repay so prices are generally quite reasonable. Usually appointments aren't necessary, just get there early and wait.

Thank you.
You don't need an appointment - however GPs won't prescribe the meds you need. The specialists, neurologists/psychiatrists usually see patients in different clinics/ hospitals. For example, that specialist may see patients at Baypointe Hospital Tuesdays and Thursdays 1-4 pm. You can go have your name listed and wait until you are called. I find this stressful as many others will be waiting. But once you become a regular patient, you can ask your doctor for an appointment.

Marky, I checked for the price of the prescription drugs at three spots and the local Generica Pharmacy or the two mom and pop pharmacies in my area, and they don't carry the medications you listed so only the major pharmacies would carry those, I don't live close to the major pharmacies so sorry I won't be able to help you with the prices.

I was given a price quote on Xanor (Xanax) from Mercury. It was $146 per month supply!

Well, since you singled me out, I guess Iíll reply. I was just asking a question about why one would take anti-depressants when you said that you donít have depression issues.
Didnít mean to strike a nerve. Anyway I had my gf check with her cousin who works at a local pharmacy and they donít even carry Xanax or itís generic. 🤷*♂️

Marky, point taken and since none of us are doctors, moderator included we get the message and hopefully we can get you some better information and focus on your medications and original question.

Mercury drug is one of the main chained drug stores here on Luzon but keep in mind that some of the other islands and more remote area's outside of Manila may have a different chain and limited medications.

And back to your original question..... "If I visit the Philippines sometime soon, how long is the wait to see a doctor? I need to see a psychiatrist"

Yes you'll need to see a Psychiatrist or specialist and bring copies of your medical records and the prescription copies to make the process go much faster but I don't see you waiting any length of time it's all about the cash if you have money you have service.

I'm a therapist and licensed on holistic healing but since we don't know your history, the moderators are just being careful. That's why we suggested that you seek medical help immediately whether you are travelling or will be landing in the Philippines soon.

Sounds about the same price for my alcohol and cigarettes here in PH. we all have our vices so simply get on with it. As I said earlier with your opening post, google will be your best friend, no answerers there? Come to places like this and chew the fat, relax and don't take offence as none is meant. Inquiring minds only. Personally I have to ask:

Is this your first trip to PH? How long are you coming for and if only a 30 day free visa bring your supplies with you as long as you bring the prescription and a correctly labelled bottle there should/will be no issues, honestly I have been in and out of PH. dozens of times and nary a bag search or Question, pretty well walk through, leaving the country they may take a cigarette lighter or a pair of nail scissors but my vitamin supplements are not looked at nor a hard drive in my carry on etc etc.

Personally I need not to know your medical needs and really don't give one iota but you asked a question and got answers/opinions to a very broad based question that you didn't appreciate the responses to given your original post. Why not simply ask your professional/therapist/doctor that is treating you the answers to what could be a simple resolution? Rhetorically your original post appears to have opened a can of worms, historically you seem to have left the poeple you asked for help in the dark because of an apparent need to hide something/s. As said return to your professional within your country and get your answers, hey that's what you pay them for as you don't seem to like ill-informed opinions from those you asked assistance from. All in all Marky once you get your meds sorted and get here and taste the dirt your meds will be the last thing on your mind, reminds me of what lefties said in an earlier post, come and enjoy mate.

Cheers, Steve.

I take the anti-depressant, I don't have depression. I don't take the anti-depressant, I have depression. Why is that so hard to understand? I take the anti-depressant and I am NOT fighting depression. If I stop taking the anti-depressant, then I would be fighting depression
