Default Rough Idle? Clean Mass Air Flow Sensor

SUV had a rough idle. Spent high dealer fees twice trying to diagnose it.

Researching, I found videos on you tube concerning Check/clean the Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAFS). (I never heard of one)

So I check mine, although I change the Air filter every 6 months, The sensors on the MAFS was covered in a thick layer of dirt. Dealer never mentioned let's clean the Mass Air Flow Sensor and see if that works. (supposed to be cleaned every air filter change).

Search on you tube - how to clean a Mass Air Flow Sensor. Use only MAFS Cleaner and don't spray the electric contacts, spray only the sensors and described in the videos.

I used CRC from Lazada. https://www.lazada.com.ph/products/c...P6S05&search=1

No more rough idle problem.

Well done Joe, google and youtube are my best friends,,,,,,,, fixed tvs and other bits with youtube vids. Just wish there were trade directories on google for my area in Bacnotan. Very difficult to find tradies, local knowledge seems to be the go.
We have secured a surveyor through an auntie up the road, turns out he did the subdivision 9 years ago.

Cheers, Steve.

Likewise, You Tube how to is my go to for many issues.

The idle was so bad I could barely use the AC while in traffic. SUV runs like it's brand new now after spraying the dirt off the MAF.

Have you considered going to Final Option, Dusit, the surf area projects and other work sites and ask if any skilled want to work on their day off? Or put some signs on the MNR in those areas so the workers can see what you need and contact you or they may pass it onto a skilled who's available.

We have been trying to catch up with the locals and expats in our area for their recommendations.
There are many new houses and some being built at the moment, catching up is the difficult part. Slowly the wheels turn and we will get there in the end.
Thanks for your suggestions Joe, will have a look but San Juan is 20 minutes drive so we thought to try local trades in the Bacnotan area.

Cheers, Steve.

Many working at the Final Option Beach Resort expansion and San Juan projects are from Bacnotan. That "O" Housing project looks like it will be huge. You guys are about to get a huge Solar Farm on the hill and there is talk of starting The Economic Zone there. The area where they are building the SeaOil storage tanks have skilled. What skills are you searching for?

Sounds like you have your finger on the pulse Joe. (SFC from memory?) All those things you have mentioned are news to us, do you have any more info?
We are looking for a plumber and electrician to fix many faults as well as some one to replace some ceilings, also decent insulation. Eventually some largish extensions.

Thanks for your input Joe.

BTW. soz for going off topic.

Cheers, Steve.
