    Hello Nyclon,

I have submitted my fiance visa application today. And, I have been trawling Expat forum for weeks. Your and Joppa's advice has always been very helpful! I would like to post the list of documents here, would you kindly be able to review them. Even though, it's pointless now, given that it's all been submitted. Thought i ll ask anyway! :)

    Many thanks,

    Hi Nyclon,
You seem pretty up on visa rules, can you tell me when they changed the rules on living together abroad over 4 years meant when you applied for settlement visas you went straight to the ILR after passing the KOL?
Am new to this site and not being a geek cannot find how to post threads or see my replies.
    Your help would be appreciated.

    Regards.

    Hello Nyclon,
I am currently in the UK on a spouse visa.
I also happen to work on a cruise ship.
When I arrived after a gap of 5 months, the immigration officer at the airport said, I should not be out of the country for over 3 months?
Now I am having to go again for 4 months (as I am not having luck finding a job in london) Not sure whether to, don't want to mess up my chances of visa renewal.
    Can you advise please

    Hi Nyclon,

re. Retrospective Priority, USA to UK (Settlement)

Thank you for the information, definitely feel much more reassured now.
Also if you had any idea on the following, that would be greatly appreciated as it's very odd! :
So now that the Gov website is operational again, I've naturally tried to check approx. processing times, but am unable to select "settlement" as an option from USA to UK.
I've replicated the search on the two other countries that the Sheffield office handles (Nigeria , Canada) and am able to select "settlement" each time.

Any ideas you could hazard as to why this is..?

    Thanks again,

    Hi nyclon,

Could you please delete a thread for me that I had created earlier today?

I feel that I have just been misunderstood and bombarded with negativity, although your response was helpful. Thank you. All I was asking for was advice for this difficult time, not to be scrutinized by other members for the way we were mislead and handled my application. Here's the partial link to the thread - .../britain-expat-forum-expats-living-uk/535722-spousal-visa-app-hold-7-months-refused-reapplying-usa.html

    Thank you.

    Hi nyclon,
I have just yesterday submitted my Ancestral Visa application and have booked the biometric test for next week. Im not have trouble with applying for my wife's as my dependent. I have looked at multiple combinations of the visas that you have a choice of before getting to fill in the application form and the obvious

    Work
    Non points based
    dependent more than 6 months

Is the most relevant one but there is a section in there UK sponsor and I have no way of filling that out.

Am I on the wrong track? or will we need to fins some one in the UK that can sponsor her and then have her try and find a job before applying also?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi. And what about if I have 2 jobs 1 main and 1 part time for 6 months but I have changed my part time job after 3 months and got another part time job. Would I still meet the requirements under category A?

    Hello

I am applying online fiance visa for UK, My fiance is female and I am male. I am in India and she lives in UK.

Correct me if i am wrong in selecting visa type [APPLYING FIANCE VISA ]

    TYPE OF VISA : SETTLEMENT
    PURPOSE OF APPLICATION : SETTLEMENT
TYPE OF APPLICATION : PROPOSED CIVIL PARTNERSHIP

According to defination of UKBA on their website UK Border Agency
SET2.1 What is the definition of a proposed civil partner?
A proposed civil partner is a person who wishes to legally register his / her partnership with another person of the same sex.

Now I am confused that which TYPE OF APPLICATION I will have choose. Because Proposed Civil Partner definition makes me confused as we are different sex persons and according to my knowledge Unmarried Partner is completely different type of visa compare to fiance and applying from outside of UK.

Please HELP and correct my understanding for TYPE OF APPLIcATION

    Many thanks in advance.
