Sorry for the incredibly late response, over 14 months late!
I am also from the U.S..
I currently live in Norway, where I met my Filipina wife.
My family line is from Germany and moved to Texas around 1845.
Norway is a wonderful place and you have much to take pride of in your heritage.
Stereotyping....Norwegians are down to earth, honest, people who enjoy nature and they do not let rainy or cold weather keep them from enjoying the day outside.

Compleated medical yesterday. Found out I have 6 months from date medical form was signed to be in the Philippines so that gives me plenty of time. It was harder getting a police clearance. They finally wrote them a letter saying I have no records. Lady that works visas at embassy said that will be fine.
Next Friday we are going there and turning in all the paperwork.

Do you remember once your 13a visa was approved by the Philippine consulate how long was it valid for to report to the Philippine immigration. I know once I arrive in the Philippines I need to report within the first week. But what I need to know is once approved in Chicago is it valid for 6 months so I have time to get things finished here.
Called the consulate ask them they just kept telling me it takes about 11 days to get approved. But I couldn't get them to understand how long I had before it expired. Imagine that not understanding my question hahaha...

That's good to know, thanks. My wife has an account at PBI so I've just with drawn and deposit into her account of needed. But 200 Php for every 20000 Php pisses my off. My credit union back home will release the check as soon as they get the ACH. Others wait until the exact day. I'll swing by China Bank this afternoon here in Bacolod and see what they say. It's not like I have anything better to do. Thanks again.

I usually get a <snip> on names of business I post so sending you a private message instead. I bank at China Bank in the SM mall in Angeles. China Bank is 15 working days for a check to clear. I have found in the Philippines not all branches of the SAME bank follows the same rules. At the SM branch if the dollar amount that is drawn is $1,000 or more one can request the bank’s special exchange rate. The teller has to call to get their special exchange rate which cannot be called between 12 noon and 2PM. I usually do my banking at 2 pm since the exchange rate usually go up in the afternoon
