The Tokay's are pretty special John, not saying the small ones aren't but it certainly takes me back to when I was 10 or 11, brother 12 we started collecting reptiles for 10 plus years, by the time I was 21 we had a bigger and better collection than the Melbourne and Sydney Zoos put together, a very expensive hobby if you are not breeding and selling........ licensing laws changed and we sold off 90% of our collection, the saddest thing is that it really wasn't that expensive to licence them but we had so many and I couldn't afford it, nor my brother, I got out but My brother had a passion for dragon lizards, me it was monitors, he wisely held his favourites and is now one of the leading breeders in Oz 40 years on.
Most days I see the Tokays that live in our studio, I inch closer for the better look but at 3 to 4 feet they bolt, I leave them alone once this happens, slowly they let me get closer. Not real sure where they are going to hide once we move all the stuff out of there into the new garage, perhaps a few holes up high so they can also move.
As said to art we have no spiders in the house, well they probably venture in like flies and mozzies but don't last long.

Cheers, Steve.

My 64 year old prostate woke me the other night. As I was standing there in the semi darkness taking care of things a gecko ran over my foot.

I wish I had been sitting down at the time.

Ha haaa... they tend to jump on you also at times but we don't have those Tokay's in our region, this young man tried to sell us one and they're beautiful little lizards as compared to the Gecko.

We had a few in Florida. One night a young one lost his grip on the ceiling and landed on my face - a rather unpleasant awakening.

A species under threat it seems because of medicinal uses in some countries, I could not find any scientific evidence to back up these claims, perhaps like rhinoceros horn and the likes. As said I feel lucky to have these here and observe.

Have a listen to their call on the link, perhaps you have them but have only heard them.

Cheers, Steve.

Insurance or coffee I have come to the realisation that there are no answers for removal of the smaller geckos in our house, based on other responses, insurance included, they are doing a job it appears, no bother apart from the droppings, their antics outweigh the Sh1t around the house and no mozzies, flies, spiders but the occasional visiting crab is my call as the extra residents steer clear and clearly that is my part of the communal occupation, crabs, goats, dogs, bats and left handed ferrets. Must say that I have not seen a mouse nor a rat in 15 months living here, not sure why as other residents in the area complain.

Cheers, Steve.
