Default Citizenship and Visa Extension Questions

Guys,
Got couple of questions, please share your experience and guide me

We arrived in Australia on PR (189 issued on 22 April 17, valid till 21 April 2022) on 8 June 17, stayed in Australia till 21 April 2018 and then went and still out of Country, now, we are planning to come back, just need to know

1. 5 year Visa Extension: I understand we need to stay in Australia for 2 years to easily extend my RP for another 5 years, otherwise I need to show some family or economic connections (Job, etc), Now please advise will the first 10 months(allowed 60 days out of country? this makes it 1 year?) will be considered? If yes, that means, we can come anytime before 21 April 2021 and visa can be extended without issue?

2. Apply for Citizenship: I am looking at https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-support/tools/residence-calculator and if we would have been back in Australia on 18 Jan 2020, it shows to apply after 18 Jan 2023 (slightly more than 3 years), does this means they are considering June 17 to April 2018 as one year plus 3 years? I cant see a future date to know if we come later this year or next year, will this change anything? I noticed they asked for travel dates in the last 4 years, which means they will only consider the first stay of 10 months till April 2021?

Thank you in advance

If you are planning to come back before the expiry date and spend here considerable amount of time and also land a job, you can safely apply for a RRV. Generally with 2 years residency, they grant RRV without a hitch. In certain circumstances when it is less than 2 years, they may ask you to prove you are serious about settling here. Maybe having a job, house on rent, kids in school should be able to satisfy even if you dont meet 2 year criteria. Also, once you come in before April 2021, you dont need a visa to technically stay here, but you only need a VISA to return back.

Yes, it does calculate your last 10+ months as one year if it shows so based on your dates. I don't think any circumstance will change if your next entry changes to a future date prior to Visa expiry.
