Default Giving birth to child in Australia

Guys,

we are a family of 3 and we all have aussie PR since Feb 2018, but we are still living out of Australia till now and have no plans to move to Australia for at least 1.5 years more. My wife is pregnant and is in her 2nd month. now i am weighing on the options to either have the baby overseas or in australia.
for overseas i know, but for Australia i am a bit confused, would appreciate some feedback who did their child birth in australia and after getting the passport went back to overseas.
i have a few questions in this regard
1- how many months prior to child delivery my wife should get into Australia?
2- is it easy to get medicare card and how much time does it take?
3- should i go and buy a private insurance for her instead of the medicare?
4- how i can get a small house or apartment for her for 4-5 months.
5- if someone has done, how much is it manageable since i cannot stay 4-5 months with her as i am doing job in middle east. i have a few friends who can help out.

thanks
