Default Why No Loto Drawing On Thursday?

Does anyone know why the French Loto doesn't have a drawing on Thursdays? There are Loto drawings on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, Euromillions drawing on Tuesday and Friday, but nothing on Thursday.

I can understand why there might not be a drawing on Sunday...

Drawing....is that English ?

Do you 'draw' a lotto ?

In answer to the question, I have no idea. Which is strange really because I know everything.

But I guess the fdj sell more scratchcards on a Thursday than any other day of the week.

If you could draw a lotto, you would win it every time would you not

How do you ascertain the winning numbers in a lotto? Enquiring minds want to know.

Where I come from, winning lotto numbers are "drawn" from a bowl or other collection of possible numbers. Now, I realize that these days little ping pong balls with numbers are spit, or pooped, or expelled into a plastic tube. But I've never heard any of those words used to describe the event.

I think Lotto draws are simply programmed according to the number of lottos per week, if Thursday is currently a draw-free day, that just means that there is a potential spare space for either a future new regular lotto or a special lotto. I don't see why all weekdays should have a lotto draw, although that might appeal to gambling addicts.

Hmmm...I dunno. I speaky no English.

'Is there a lottery drawing tonight' ?

'Is there a lottery draw tonight' ?

Or..

Is there a lottery tonight ? (I would go for that one...in everyday speech)

Why is there not a lottery on Thursdays ?

Or you could say 'tirage'.
