Has Macron said yes to holidays?
I thought he'd simply agreed that Brits entering France won't be quarantined.
That's not the same as saying that Brits are free to come and go as they wish.
At present a Brit can travel from the UK to France if they have an reason for international travel. And they are not quarantined. Macron has already clarified that the UK will be treated as if still a member of the EU. So what's changed? Seems to me Boris has got Macron to repeat a decision that Macron had already announced, but Boris is repackaging it as some kind of special deal that he's done with Macron.
Perhaps Boris' agenda is to present it as a concession to UK exceptionalism, rather than a concession to EU member states that the UK is being allowed to piggyback on.
We will have to wait and see what the position is in summer. I don't think Macron said for definite that Brits will be allowed to go to France on holiday.

AFAIK at this point in time the French government has not made a decision on allowing Brits or EU citizens to holiday in France this summer. This article seems to confirm that.

https://sante.journaldesfemmes.fr/fi...avion-camping/

So, we may know more at the end of May or beginning of June, but I think much will depend on how the current déconfinement goes.

All a bit vague. The UK media seems to think travelling to France is permissible for holiday.

Ryanair has announced it will start up flights to Europe.....which I guess will include France.

But...AND A BIG BUT....the UK voted out of the EU. Why do they want a holiday here if it is such a bad a place ?

Anyway, if the British are allowed back into France....I'm glad I don't live in the Dordogne. Or anywhere in SW France.

EDIT..Sue was worried about the odd Parisian turning up in her tiny place.. Wait until July

Usually it hears half a story and makes up a bit more with no thought involved, specially for the consequences of giving fake news. Could that be the case here?

I dunno....something is going on behind closed doors.

Would France risk opening up its doors to the British for their holidays ?

They represent the second biggest tourist market.

The French tourist market is on its knees.

No Smeg.
It's covered here
https://uk.ambafrance.org/FAQ-recomm...i-et-la-France

Brits going to France still need to fill the attestation in.
Going on holiday isn't an acceptable reason to travel.

Of course things might change and by summer France might feel able to let tourists in. But it wouldn't be a Brit-only deal. Probably it would be an EU-wide deal. Or maybe selected EU countries who have got on top of the thing. Who knows. What's the point speculating.

If it is any help, Spain is insisting on 14 days quarantine, even for people coming from UK which rather makes a two week holiday on the Costa a little boring.

Since we're on a related topic - what's the current status of travel into and out of the EU? Last I knew there was an EU closure to those coming from outside the EU.

In fact, someone has posted the question and I see no one has got around to answering yet. https://www.expatforum.com/expats/fr...-schengen.html

Do you book a holiday to Blackpool, Skegness, Wales, Cornwall, Lulworth Cove or France this summer.

Big difference between Skegy and the Dordognet.. Well no actually. But at least you can get drunk at the airport and on Ryanair getting to the Dordogne.

I reckon (Smeg prediction) that France will open up its borders for tourism.

I hope they don't mind you. It will be a one way ticket to a second wave.
