Allier. Slap bang in the middle. Couldn’t be fairer. VERITE from Toulouse, EH from Pau, berky from Nice, bev from Essonne. You could pick up Tiger on the way. No excuses . Think of all air that could be cleared on the way down...

"After This **** Is Over I'm Going To..."

... Move House (again)

we rented this place just for the confinement but it's a high street town house on the busy main road between Valence and Le Puy so when the new "normal" rolls back in, I can imagine hundreds of trucks thundering past with all the accompanying noise and pollution. Right now it's handy with all shops a 5 minute stroll and a whole new village to discover; even an 5 meter high orange tree (with real oranges!) hidden in a hedge behind the pharmacie.

Springtime is a riot of flowering shrubs - lilacs and cherry blossom send shivers of pleasure up my spine.

We've done one another's haircuts for a long while - not to save money but simply because more often than not Madame leaves the coiffeuse's shop with a scowl: "look what she's done to my hair!"

Yesterday we visited a property for sale for the incredible price of 14000€ (fourteen - not 140K) - but it's a job for youngsters with energy to burn. We're happy with our riverside woods and meadows, planning to build a "tiny house" on a trailer chassis.

All well and good but the real problem, boys and girls, is the climate - it rained just once the whole winter (and not much) - the scorching weather is upon us again. Coupled with lack of migrant labour for picking harvests, there's going to be a food shortage. Can AI stretch out to robotise food production on a huge scale for a hungry world? Or just for the 1% who own 80% of everything.

I moved my camper van to a patch on the other side of the river, totally hidden from view. Pour vivre heureux, vivons caché!

We drove our grand-daughters back to their parents yesterday so the house is much more quiet. This morning no high-pitched squeaky voices to trouble the silence - I'm watching my alfalfa sprouts growing.
