I love flying, I dislike airports. I hate trains and if the only option is a bus, I'm not going!

They've almost perpetually run on the margins since their Jersey European days and I reckon they could probably have ducked and dived for another decade or two if they hadn't got brexit, the virus and had to pay the bills all in a relatively short span. I'm fairly certain that the government would have bailed them out if they could. They were just tied into so many things you wouldn't think of, something like 3/4s of NHS patient transfers in the Highlands & Islands were carried out by FlyBe. Replacements for these services are going to have to be found and paid for, quickly.

You'll be ok when Boris builds his tunnel.

Not a good time for the airports they served either.

Apparently, almost 90% of all flights in and out of Southampton Airport were Flybe. That's gotta hurt. Same with Exeter, where of course they also had head office.

My 85 year old mum used the Southampton/Limoges route a few times coming to see us. Now she has to get to Gatwick.

Regards

Ian

Think it's actually higher than that at Southampton, it's just shy of 80% at Belfast City.

Yeah, straight through the Beaufort Dyke. It'll be novel.
