Indeed. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

I am beyond disgusted with the thought that ANYONE could listen to either the hearings in the House OR the curated snippets of those hearings and the narrative being provided by the House's trial managers in the Senate today and not be willing to vote Trump out of office. I know the Republicans are scared to death that Trump might bully them out of office, but what do they think history is going to make of their failure to act? (And "history" might be only 2 years or so from now; I would bet that it won't take long at all assuming our democracy survives Trump.)

And Horsa, I'm sure you're enjoying "triggering the libs" or whatever the British version of that phrase might be. Hopefully we'll all just ignore you.

Nobody in America protests anymore. They'd rather stay at home and tweet.

Based on the 2016 results and the little factoid that the Senate rejected the idea of any sort of funding for protection of the election system even in the face of knowledge that the Russians are back at it again, I think we may already know the result of the 2020 elections.

I'd say this could be an excellent time to start learning Russian over there.

I'm learning French.

So far I know how to say useful things like "J'ai besoin de un stylo."

But maybe we should all start learning Russian too.

Yes, and unless the voting machines and systems are secured, the next election will be stolen again. Dosvedanya democracy.

First you need to get rid of the corrupt Electoral College and have a proper democratic election.

No, we need to secure the voting machines and systems first.

The electoral college is a mechanism we have in the Constitution and which have lived with for two centuries, but without a true tally of votes, we wouldn't even know if the electoral college were subverting the will of the people or not. And state by state, we are getting towards circumventing it. But first, secure the voting systems.

Or just return to paper ballots like almost every other country in the world seems to do. Maybe even stain people's fingers purple like you've seen folks do in Afghanistan and other places. (I always have wondered what the reaction would be in the US to something like that!)
