I met a Spanish wine maker 6 years ago then lost touch with him. I have now heard from him again. I think Carlos's new life as described on his web site (there is not reams of stuff) some might find interesting.

I'm not pushing his wine but note at the moment he only has one . It is a bit more per bottle than I usually pay but saved for special occasions I found it easy to justify a dozen bottles.

But I was glad to see a spanish family living the life I'm sure many dream of.

Pesky Wesky and Alcalaina like this.

We had a Mencia grape wine this year in Asturias, although the winery was based just over the border in Galicia. I think it might be becoming more and more popular. It was delicious.
This is too expensive for me unfortunately...

One of my favourite TV programmes is Cómetelo on Canal Sur, the Andalucian channel. It's a cookery show, on every weekday at 8 pm, and every day they visit somewhere in Andalucia that sources the main ingredient they are using, usually small businesses such as the one you describe, producing high quality products on a human scale. I always try to seek them out if I can; there are plenty in Cádiz province. They aren't always more expensive, but even if they are, I just buy smaller quantities and waste nothing!
