For those who moved to Mexico. Since you have made the move, did you find that your body weight:

stayed the same,
decreased
or increased.

Interested to see how a dietary lifestyle change in Mexico has made an impact if any.

And what is your primary food of choice: local Mexican, Western fast food, or what else.

My diet is much the same as it's always been: the so-called "Mediterranean" diet. Heavy on vegetables; low on meat, and olive oil for cooking. My weight is the same, too. I like some Mexican dishes: fajitas, corn tortillas, soups etc., but shun the deep fried treats. As always.

Our weight has decreased. We began following a vegetarian diet 5+ years ago in Canada. We seem to eat more fruit and fewer grains here. We eat out about once a week and treat ourselves to nieves de garrafa regularly. We don't have a car and walk a LOT. Also, living in Guadalajara at 1,566 metres (about 5,100 feet) means that our bodies work a bit harder, which I think burns more calories. YMMV.

We have not changed our diet in Mexico, we eat southern French and Asian. We are the same weight.. Everything fresh no junk food or prepared food. The only difference, we cut out wine and drinks lots of limonade.

I am fatter. I like junk food, beer, wine and whatever tastes good. When I moved here in 1997 I had a 32 inch waist and am now up to about a 38.

Pretty much the same. I have lost a little weight in Mexico but my diet hasn't changed much. I rarely eat anything that is packaged. I just buy ingredients: fruits, vegetables, flour, beans, etc. I do buy packaged tofu (made up by the place where I buy it) but that is about the only prepared food I ever buy, unless you call beer a prepared food.

. . . moved here this past marzo 2019 . . . upgraded mi cocina with refrig & estufa and have been preparing almost all my meals en mi casa ( except when I have gone out on dates, or with a few friends out to dinner ). So, lots of veggies, fruta con yogurt, more veggies & meats ( pollo, carne ), drink fresh brewed coffee in the mornings, limonada the rest of the day. It's the walking that has lowered my weight ( and loss of fat around the tummy ), and practicing yoga. Still like cookies at night . . . coming back on point, yo vivo serca a parque central here in San Cristobal de Las Casas . . . which is a good decision on my part - I can walk most everywhere I need to get to . . . el mercado, las tiendas, cafes con musica en vivo AND another weakness . . . espresso y chocolate caliente con leche . . . con una sonrisa ( gotta go . . . mis gatos tienen hambre . . . )
