The person who wrote the article has good credentials, but I don't know how to check those figures, frankly. I have a feeling that AlanMexicali does, and await his input. If those figures are true, it's not looking good for the future.

My own take on the state of the economy is that if the trade wars continue and/or escalate...that in itself will result in the bubble bursting.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Reserve_System

There has been thousands of stories and conspiracy theories [ David Icke's for example is a famous one that got some notice ] about how terrible the Federal Reserve System is. It has survived since 1913. This artice is another critique of it . Possibly it might be too complex for the layman to understand. I read the article and simply thought; O boy! Another article about how terrible and what a con the Federal Reserve Banking Cartel is.

I think there's more to it:

"An emergency clause in the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 allows the Fed to provide liquidity to a distressed banking system. But the Federal Reserve did not stop with the creation of a few hundred billion dollars. It flooded the financial markets with absurd levels of fabricated money. This had the effect of making the economy appear as if it had revived. And for the oligarchs, who had access to this fabricated money while we did not, it did."

I don't see a conspiracy. If so, who was conspiring with whom?

Sounds like the plot of an Avengers movie.

Banks are corporations (artificial citizens) that are immortal and too "big to fail", so government policy feels obligated to prop them up. You, OTOH, are neither immortal nor too big to fail--so you're expendable. Oligarchs' fortunes are corporations, which will stay in the hands of their heirs, untaxed. That pretty much locks the überwealthy in at the top, and limits class mobility. Meritocracy is dead. No problems here, the system is working perfectly as designed.
