Question CDIC (contrat à durée indéterminée du chanter) and immigration status

Hello! I'm hoping I can get in touch with people who have been in a similar situation to mine:

I recently finished a master's program and am currently staying in France on an APS (autorisation provisoire de séjour) while I look for work related to my field of study.

I interviewed with a company this week for an engineering consultant position, and they offered me the job, pending approval of my file by their client for what would become my first "mission." My would-be employer has offered me the position with a renewable CDIC (contrat à durée indéterminée du chantier) contract.

My questions are:

1. Will this type of contract allow me to change my immigration status from "étudiant" to "salarié" (desired) or "travailleur temporaire" (undesired)?

2. Does the status that I end up getting depend on the expected length of the "mission" (6 months)?

3. If they decide not to renew my CDIC following a mission, does this jeopardize my ability to stay in France? Similarly, is my carte de séjour and "salarié" status linked to my employer or do I retain it if I change jobs?

Thank you for your help!
