Default Bachelors degree equivalency

Hello all

I have an EU bachelors degree.. how would i go about getting recognized here?

I believe i first need to get it translated - and then how would i go about finding out the equivalence here in france? The thing is - its for a field which is dont think is recognized in france

bachelors of education for teaching religion in public schools

most countries in europe offer a number of hours of child's choice of religion in public school - however i dont think france has the same system..
so i would like at least to see what else i can do with my education credits here.
Anyone have experience with this?

Also - if someone can post a link to a list of traducteurs assermentes i would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you

Unless it's a degree that is needed for a "regulated" profession, you really don't need to have it formally recognized in France. Simply list it on your resumé when job hunting, with a brief explanation (in French) of the subject area.

OK, that's the next "challenge" - because, as you say, the French do not teach religion in the schools, and anyway, teaching in the public schools is a civil service job and subject to a competitive exam that is very difficult to almost impossible for non-EU nationals to manage.

Do you actually need a traducteur assermenté? (They are very expensive, in any event, and usually only required for something like official government documents, like a birth certificate.) If you do need to find one, easiest thing to do is check the Pages Jaunes for the area where you are living: PagesJaunes : Annuaire des professionnels et bonnes adresses Just enter "traducteur assermenté" in the Quoi? box and your town or postal code in France in the Où? box and you should find translators in your area.

With your degree, you may want to check with church groups in France, or just look into private companies providing continuing education, mostly to companies in France. Even teaching English, you're ahead of the game if you have a teaching credential (and some teaching experience to go with it).
Cheers,
Bev

well what happens if i wanted to further my education here?
i kinda would need to have it 'recognized' a little more than some fancy words on a resume no?

This is where you can get a certified translation/equivalence statement for non-French degrees:
ENIC-NARIC France - CIEP
