Default Covid-19 new rules

Thought I'd just let everyone know that the requirement to wear a mask in enclosed public areas will now come into force next week instead of on 1 August as previously indicated by the PM (according to what he has told the Senate).

It is already obligatory in 6 communes in Mayenne.

I was wondering, would there have been a break out of Covid in Mayenne if France had closed its borders with the UK this summer.

Will there be other outbreaks like this ?

I am sure this is related to tourism.

This is not a mask problem.

It's nice to have a PM that listens and changes his mind.

I doubt he had a choice, especially with the Senate. And he was very slow in listening and making a decision within a reasonable time (remember the Government was 'reflecting' on it) - and let's not forget that it was primarily health experts pushing for it.

Give him a break, EH, he's only been PM for, I think, last week?!

Two weeks, and he would of course have known he was very much in the running before that, not to mention that the President (his boss) has been President for a little over 3 years. Plus Castex has been very keen to demonstrate that he has hit the ground running, has he not?

Of course, you are entitled to your own view, but the noise around this had been very very loud for a number of days before his speech to the Assemblée, which he could surely have corrected slightly prior to making it.

I actually started this thread as a place where people could post new rules re Covid-19that are put, or in the process of being put, in place in France, whether that be in certain communes or across the nation.

I thought it might be a handy point of reference.

(If anyone sees the actual date for the wearing of face masks indoors, which I believe will be in the decree, perhaps they might care to post it here. In fact a link to the decree would be useful, as it could well include details re exceptions etc.)

Edit:
Also any easing of rules.

All France Info is saying so far is "next week" ("la semaine prochaine").

Exactly, that's what all the media are saying at the moment because no one yet knows. In fact it appears that no one (outside the Government) may know until the decree is actually issued.

But if you do come across more information, please don't hesitate to let us know
