Default Covid19 coming out of confinement

This seems to be a much discussed topic on the internet, and not least in France.

I thought a new thread might be the place to discuss the potential timeframe/s for the déconfinement in France and what that process might look like (especially since it seems clear that everyone in France will not come pout of confinement at the same time).

Don't think anyone can do more than guess yet, too many imponderables.
We'll not know until there are significant numbers of antibody tests across the population.

Another month in confinement.

Kids won't go back to school before the rentrèe.

Shops will gradually open.

Social distancing will continue.

At the end of the day, it is up to the individual how they choose to behave.

Anyone with a brain will social distance for the rest of the year.

Certainly I will.

No more talking to would-be expats on the ferry?

How will they ever survive?

Agree with all that; there will be some limitations on movement over the summer and autumn if we see 'rebound' effects as the rules are slowly lifted. Social distancing will become the new normal, especially between those recognisably more at risk.

There is going to be a lot of disruption for health reasons until we get a regular vaccine program running and build up widespread immunity in the community (even if the effectiveness of the immunity varies from year to year). That's going to take a couple of years at best.

But disruption for economic reasons is also going to have a big impact on our lives. The imponderables are vast, and scary.

Hmmm other European countries are starting to be more clear about the process and when it might/will commence.

TL re your link, which is interesting, I have mentioned the situation in the south west on at least one other thread.

Re the Nord Est Sud Ouest divide and how this virus is making its way down to you must be quite alarming for you and could mean that you may have several more weeks in confinement than those of us that live in the North of the country. However, one day at a time, there's no sense in trying to predict which regions will have some restrictions lifted first and which won't, saying that though Brittany seems to be one of the least affected regions so I can but hope.

If the increase in cases slows here, I'll be just fine
