Default VLS-TS validation upon arrival in France

Hello
My husband and I have VLS-TS one year visas for France. I know we must validate them online in the first three months after we arrive in France. Does anyone know how long it takes for the OFII or the French government to contact us back with the medical appointment? Or anything else about this next step?
We will be in France for 2 1/2 months, then travel for about a month in Europe and don't want to miss their communication or appointment?
Does it come by mail and email or must mail?
Thank you.

Hi - I went through all this and can help you out. After you validate your visa online, you will get a letter via snail mail within the month. The date for the initial interview/language test and medical appointment I believe were given together (two separate dates/times/locations, but in the same letter they mail you. If you need to reschedule one, they will automatically reschedule the other too. I had to reschedule one because of travel dates and it wasn't a problem.

You also have to attend two full day "training" courses.

Let me know if there is anything else!

But the OFII process varies depending on your visa, thus no language test for many.

Thank you both for this update. We are now arrived in Montpellier, registered on online and await the next steps.

Not necessarily.

My wife and I arrived in Paris on 15 August this year, validated online immediately...and have not heard anything yet via either snail mail or email.

Much appreciated for the info-please let us know when you get your OFII letter and we will do the same.
