Default Regarding french nationality

I am living in pondicherry my mother and grandfather are born in french india.I recently found the document named "demande d'immatriculation consulaire" in that my grandfather registered my mother name. I have no idea what this document is, i have all my mother, grandfather and grandmother documents in french. Is it is possible to get french nationality now? Is so please guide me.

We've had others ask about claiming French nationality based on grandparents or parents born in Pondicherry. I don't recall anyone having come back to tell us how their experience went. But in any event, you should probably contact the French Consulate there to ask what the process would be for claiming French nationality based on the documents you have.
