Default Vaccine question

Does France allow vaccine exemption for children entering school?

Yes, it does but you have to provide documentary evidence of why your child hasn't been vaccinated - in principle.

In practice, it's fairly easy to evade, especially if you're a Brit (which I note you aren't but the same might still apply) because UK health records belong to the Home Secretary - for some God-unknown reason - and you're not allowed to have the entire content of them. You can have selected extracts of your own records - depending upon your practitioner "at home" - and subject to paying an extortionate amount of money for the copies and for the admin. It particularly applies if you're a parent 'cos, under the Data Protection Act, you're not entitled to your child's records (confidentiality) unless you have a Court Order, and of course, your child isn't allowed to ask for them in his/her own right, since they're under-age.

A complete absurdity, but, in practice, we haven't had a problem.

Thanks so much for the info! I'm also not sure if the amount of vaccines are the same as in USA. We have so many that it is just crazy.

These are the mandatory vaccines:
Quelles sont les vaccinations obligatoires ?

Pour l'entrée à l'école élémentaire, la vaccination obligatoire (sauf contre-indication médicale) est :

le D.T.-POLIO contre la diphtérie, le tétanos et la poliomyélite.

ie polio, diphtheria and tetanus unless you have medical evidence showing they're contra-indicated for your child.

Wouldn't actually rely on that unless you've got it in writing. Such info is very very slow to filter through to the people who ought to know.
