Default Rules for canceling visa

I was wondering if anyone can advise...

I have left the Dubai after 7 years and moved back to my home country with my 2 children
My husband sponsored myself and children. We left Dubai at the beginning of August without canceling our visas. We decided to stay in the UK and not return to Dubai.

My husband is still residing in Dubai and has said he needs us to send our passports and EIDs in order for his company to release him as he is resigning to go to another company. Is this correct?

As we have been in the UK now for 3 months surely our visas will automatically cancel in the system..?

My husbands current company is Sharjah, so all our visas from SHJ.

Don't want to be sending my passports to UAE...so any advise will be appreciated.

Thanks

If you don't want him to be released from his employment don't send your docs, after 7 years you should know certain things must be done as per system requirements. They'll get cancelled after 6 months if you don't reenter UAE but might also get a ban placed by current employer

I'm guessing you have a particular reason not wanting to send him your passports? Normally, when leaving a company, the visas of the employee's dependents are cancelled first, then the visa of the employee. This would be why the company is asking for them. I would imagine it will cause him some difficulties to cancel his visa if he can't cancel the family visas first, but your visas will automatically be cancelled if you don't re-enter the country within a six month period.

Thanks for the reply.
Why can't they just cancel by using the information they have on the system?
If I sent them an email stating im not returning would that be sufficient for them to cancel.
I am not comfortable sending my passports.

Only way you'll know is if you email them. Try it on Sunday and please update us

Can't your husband ask his PRO?

Hi All

Thanks for your replies.

To update on this my husbands company will accept scanned copies of our passports to cancel as we are residing out side of the UAE.

The problem now is as two of the passports have expired they say they cannot cancel the visas..?

When i asked for an explanation they state that immigration will not accept an expired passport number in their system to cancel the visa which it was issued to; therefore they require new passports to do so.

This totally doesnt make sense to me as the visas are issued to the expired passports and correspond to that number.
The new passports will have a differnent number...

On another note now i have left dubai i do not wish to be connected with my new passport number in any way to my husband; by them doing this i will be again enetred onto the system.

Can any one tell me otherwise about cancelling on an expired visa whilst out the country.

Thanks

Yes that is what i guessed... its not that i have any thing to hide, just the principle of it. no need for them to have me on their system.

By January i will have exited 6 months so my visa will cancel automatic i guess so maybe i will just leave it to run its course..
