Default Westin Bubbalicious Brunch

We've been invited to brunch there this Friday and I'm interested to know what it's like.
I've tried looking for reviews but most of them are from 2012.

I balk at paying 550/650 for a paltry 3 hours of drinking and eating as we usually choose more cheap and cheerful venues like Icon or Longs Bar but as it's to celebrate someone's 50th birthday it will be nice to catch up over lots and lots of alcohol.

The thing that's irking me the most is that it's advertised as family friendly. Now does that mean that they'll (hopefully) be entertained in some kind of kids club or will they be free to run wild and poke at the food while the parents look on adoringly?

I've been a few times, its my favourite 'expensive' brunch in Dubai. Food and drink options are excellent, nowhere near as rowdy as other brunches of same type like Saffron (not totally excluded though).

Family friendly... they have a petting zoo, face painting, gymnast display. Things like that. Its actually not a bad idea as the majority of the kids are at those and not underfoot when walking to and from your table. They let the adults in the petting zoo bit when I was there, not such a good idea with drunks about.

Family friendly?

It's a brunch for getting drunk, completely surrounded by Dubai Marina 20somethings

If I was to have a relaxed and 'nice' 50th birthday brunch then Bubblicious is not what I would have picked. There's scores of very nice brunches in the 500-600 price range. Al Qasr for one. Gaucho is another one.

To be fair, if you're going to spend 5-600 on a brunch, you're certifiable anyway.

This place is the asylum waiting room.

Over priced, piss heads, ignored children running wild and animal cruelty?

Sounds like the birthday boy is in for a rare treat.
