The Jumeirah Beach Club was shut down a long time ago and is rumoured to be redeveloped as a hotel. I suspect you mean the Jumeirah Beach Park which is a public facility? This is mainly focused around the beach and associated swimming facilities and the park and associated picnic areas. Additionally I believe that it also has volley ball and tennis courts. However it is not a club in the sense that it has membership.

You may be better off looking at one of the hotels that offer these sort of facilities, depending on where you live. The Dubai Marine Resort is quite a nice one and not too expensive but it is down one end of Jumeirah. The Jumeirah Beach Hotel is at the other end of the scale; super facilities especially for children but also super-expensive.

Don't worry - both the Meridien Mina Seyahi and Le Royal Meridien are alive and doing well. The Barasti in the former is a Dubai institution!
