Default Visa Guidance

Hi all,

My wife and I will arrive end of March with one way tickets from the UK.

Very excited but nervous at the same time.

One area that I am struggling to understand is the residency visa process for my wife. The company that I will be working for is providing everything for me, so i'm assuming I turn up at DXB, drop my passport off and collect at a later date with visa/permit in place.

The area where I am struggling is that my wife, who will arrive with me, will have to be sponsored by me. I'm also assuming that I will not be able to sponsor her until my visa is in place.

Therefore she will enter DXB on a tourist visa. Is there anyway of turning a tourist entry visa into a residence visa post arrival, or will she need to leave DXB and re-enter at a later date and collect residency visa then?

Also if anyone has any guidance on the process of sponsoring a partner it would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

K

Once you have applied for the residency visa, just prior to the medical test, you can pay a fee (probably a couple of hundred Dhs) after paying which she can continue to remain in the country but on the residency visa (after the medical test is passed and her visa is stamped on the passport)
All the best!
