Default Any cyclists in the RAK area?

Hi Folks,

Following a false alarm about 18 months ago I'm arriving in RAK sometime this weekend to start a 3 month contract as an outdoor instructor.

I'm hoping to bring my road bike over and keep up the relatively good fitness I've built up this summer. I've been taking part in a few sprint distance triathlons this year + local CC evening time trials and I took part in my first olympic distance triathlon last Sunday (my legs are still feeling quite heavy!). I'm a ok cyclist. My background is as a mountain biker (nearly 20 years!!) but have been clocking up a few road miles the past year. I'm bringing my road bike over as it will be better as a form of transport while I'm out there for the 3 months. I'm not sure what the work transport situation is and it will be great to be independant

I was wondering if there were any cyclists in the RAK area who wouldn't mind me tagging along for some rides out

Ian

You do know that in this country you must ride a bike on the wrong side of the road (preferably in the middle) while combing your hair AND it must have 97 (not 96 or 98) flattened cardboard boxes on the homemade pannier system don't you?

Joking aside, riding a bike here? You must be mad!

Or contact Wolfi's Wolfi Bike Shop, Dubai United Arab Emirates

Ha ha Andy, sounds like I'll fit in perfectly!!

Thanks for the link, I'll follow that up.

If there is anyone in the RAK area that heads down to friday rides I'd be keen to hook up with them. I have no idea as yet on our working practices, hours etc but will do very very soon so will know if I can make them or not. Only problem I'll have is transport to the start
