Hi all, I am looking to move to Dubai for work with my wife, child.* My child is 5yo, now at school since September and has been diagnosed with ADHD and SLI (Speech Language Impairment - essentially delayed speech).* He receives mild medication to manage the ADHD at school.* Two question I have for the group:
1) Would either of these to your awareness interfere with temporary working visas/entry to Dubai?
2) Does anyone have any experience or advice on schooling?**
Any help very much appreciated - thanks.

They will have no effect upon your visa process although there really isnt a 'temporary working visa' as you get a visa from an employer or you're a tourist. You get residency and then you apply to sponsor your family. There are X-rays and blood tests to be done for that.

Remember that all schools here accessible by foreign nationals are private schools, and there is no state support for children with difficulties. You will end up paying for that entirely if you can find it. I recall there were several posts previously here about similar circumstances and while there is no support than there is a few years ago, its very limited. As the schools are private, remember that the school can easily ask you to remove your child if they disrupt other children, so worth investigating where they are on the ADHD spectrum.

You should also investigate whether the medication is on the banned list here.

Thankyou very much for the help - I've made a short list for the schools that might be good choices - hoping to find our availability and pricing tomorrow.
