Default Gas scam ???

Think there is something fishy going on with some of these gas delivery people, let me explain.

We have delivery gas to our house, yesterday the bottle ran out, which was strange as we only changed in 10 days ago (a bottle is usally good for at least 6 weeks) When i checked the bottle there was a slight whiff of gas which didnt cause any alarm bells. Called the guy and he changed the bottle, 120aed thank you very much! When they change a bottle they fiddle about with it until you gas comes through, why they need to do this dont know.

Last night thought i would check the regulator connection and noticed a strong smell of gas. Checking the valve it was clearly not fitted correctly and had a lot of 'play' in it, additionally the pressure to the stove wasnt great. After refitting the regulator firmly, gas pressure increased and smell of gas had gone.

I have 2 theories

1) the guy fitting the gas is incompetent and wants to starve me or blow me up

2) They set the regulator loosely so you get gas pressure but the bottle leaks out gas, and hence the bottle becomes empty in 10 days generating more sales for them.

Would recommend that anyway who uses the gas deliveries check your bottles, as a disclaimer please dont check them with a lighted match or ciggie between you lips as i dont fancy being sued.

Seems it was an instruction from the government to get rid of the British people living in the UAE...!!!
