Default Finding a job online before moving to Cyprus

Hello Everyone

My partner and I are moving to Cyprus shortly and I am looking for a new role to start when I get over there.

I am a qualified social worker currently working in a children's home with young people who display challenging behaviour, self harm, misuse substances, have been sexually, physically, emotionally abused/exploited..

I have worked in children's homes, old peoples homes, pupil referral units, nurseries and so on.

I am hoping to continue working with young people in children's homes however cant seem to find any information on any homes that are available and running in Cyprus. (Probably due to confidentiality)

Does anyone know of any companies, charities or organisations that are set up to help children who are in need of help. I don't mind if it is a domestic violence organisation or an adoption agency etc I am just looking for some sort of paid work in this sector and all i can find seems to be voluntary organisations.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank youuuuu
Hannah

Your chance of getting a job before you actually arrive here is very slim. Cypriots don't tend to answer job searching emails. It is far easier once you are here to go in person to companies.
Face to face works best in Cyprus.

To be honest, I didn't find this at all when I was planning my move.

I got responses from at least 2/3 of the places to which I sent my CV and wound up with 3 job offers before moving.

So my advice, Helen, is to definitely email around once you have a list of potential employers! Cypriots can be a lot less administratively inefficient than the stereotype!

Hi,
That's great news.
I've had a look at a few companies that do similar work to what I do now..and have sent my cv across but so far not had anything back...still in the early stages though I suppose.
We're planning on coming over in late August/September so I'll be taking cvs in personally aswel.
Would be great if I could get a job offer before coming over!!
Thanks for your reply!
Hannah x
