It can be really difficult to make new friends in a new city - so how about having a virtual cup of coffee and maybe arranging a social do?

Default Hoping to move to New Plymouth

Hi there,
my wife and I and our two little kids are waiting on a sheduled job interview and hope to be able to move out in September to New Plymouth. It's still a little ways out, but I'll get back in touch if everything comes together.

Hi.

I am Brit from North west England. My fella and I moved to Auckland 3 years ago and we love it. We dont love the traffic or the house prices so we have decided to move to the Taranaki region - New Plymouth

Its an up and coming place with lots of oil/energy related industry as well as the usual agriculture!

My hubby (married in NZ a few months ago to my UK partner) has a job to go to but i dont. I have given up a very good role in Auckland that pays well so am a little nervous about finding work down in a much smaller place.

Also it took a while for us to build up a group of friends in Auckland and I think we could be mad putting ourselves through all that 'new to the area' stuff again but we really want to buy a lifestyle block so we can live the kiwi dream and we just cant afford it in Auckland. (we currently rent a house on a farm within auckland)

Is there anyone in the New Plymouth area that can give any info/advice would be really grateful!

The big move is in 3 weeks

Thanks guys!!

Hi there,

have lived in NP since 2004. Lots of lifestyle properties in this area, many within an easy commute to the CBD. Can't suggest specific places because it really depends on what you are after.

What inför/advice are you after?

Default Moving to New Plymouth

Hi there,

My family are moving to NP on Monday 9th September 2013 from Auckland. I'm originally from UK, my partner is a kiwi and we have a 7 year old son. We've been in NZ (Auckland) for 5 years now and have finally come to our senses

Actually it's like coming home, as my partner is from the naki. I love NZ but am sick of Auckland and the traffic! So, if there is anyone who would like a coffee; play date (for the kids); a walk or a vino to welcome us to NP, we'll be settling in Westown.

Thanks

Simone
