Default SMC-Needed advise.....

Apllied under SMC category in 2014 (Without Job offer) ...

- EOI selected on July 2014
- ITA received after 3 weeks and submitted with all documents including medical on Sep 2014

Then after 2 months, in Nov application transfered from Mumbai office to London branch and then received a new mail from London stating the time has been changed due to work load and it will take 6 months

But 6 months from which date? EOI selected date, ITA submitted date? or file Transfered date? nothing is mentioned ..Sent a mail and received a same mail format stating processing time has been changed.

Now it's a dead wait, nothing is happening...Its been more then 6 months and just waiting ..........Even don't know case officer has been assigned or not...

Can anyone suggest or have idea what's going on, please help.......

Due to changes in Immigrations operations the file has been transferred to the London office for processing and due to their workload they have informed you the timeline has changed to 6 months.
When applying without a job offer it can and does take many months for an application to be assigned a case officer as the file is not a priority to them (as it has no job offer associated with it).
You have not yet been assigned a case officer and the timeline will be from when the file was received in London, but it is just a timeline and nothing concrete. It is a guide. You could have a CO assigned next week but on the flip side it could be 6 months or more.

There is nothing you can do other than wait patiently and maybe send Immigration Customer Services an email reminder every once in a while although it would be better if you contacted them by phone as always better speaking to someone directly.

Yes looks that's way. 2 months wasted. Don't dwell on their operations or processes however much it frustrates as you have no influence on the outcome.

As far as I know they do answer the customer service phone line but then again it is a premium rate service for which they'll earn a hefty income no doubt so it's in their best interest to answer.
