Default Partner work visa

Hi all!

I am currently in a long-distance relationship for years with an American. I have lived in nz for a couple of years and now hold a resident visa. Since we have not been living together the past 12 months, I am thinking about getting him a work visa for up to 12months first.

But my question is " Is there maximum age for this visa?
Work visas need you to be under 55 years old to apply but does is matter in my case?

Thanks!

Hi,

I don't beleive there is an age limit applicable to temporary work visa's irrespective whether it is for an individual or via the family stream (in your case the partnership route).
The age limit of no more than 55 years relates to Residency visa applications.

Regards,

Thanks for your reply!

So even if I could get him here on work visa, he would not be able to get a resident visa if >55years old?

We just immigrated over 18 mths ago on a 30 mth work visaand were told husband had to be under 55, which he was. We applied immediately and received residency. No age issues there.
