Hi,

I am planning to Submit EOI for SMC

I did Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Andhra University ,Visakhapatanam,India
I am Software Tester with 6+ years of Experience.

I calculated the points as below.

30 Points:Age
Qualifications:
50 points: recognised level 7 qualification - Bachelor of Engineering from Andhra University( 4 year degree course from India).Present in NZQA Exemption List
Work experience in skilled employment:
20 points: 6 years.Software Tester (261314)
15 points: Additional bonus points if work experience in an area of absolute skills shortage" :6 years
10 Points: Bonus Point if Qualification in any one of New Zealand's areas of absolute skills shortage
20 points: if your partner holds a level 7+ qualification(It is Not in the NZQA Exempted list )

If i calculate Total points comes to 145.

below are my questions

1)Am i correct in selecting the points? If not Please correct me .
2) My wife degree is not present in NZQA Exemption List. She did M.S.C in Microbiology. It is definitely Level 7 or 8
Should i go ahead with submitting EOI and Later submit IQA for My wife qualification?
Should i go for NZQA PAR first and then submit the EOI?
3)I have seen many people with B.E Electonics and commincation degree and Softwre Experience. Have you faced any challenges w.r.t bonus points. If so how is it handled? I did not see any post who is successful with this criteria.
Please share your thoughts

1) Yes you are fine with point selection. Your case is almost same as me except age.
2) It's all depend upon your choice. You may go for PAR first and submit your EOI, if you are in hurry. PAR will takes only 7-10 days and fees for PAR is $138. IQA will take about 2 months and fees for IQA is about 40,000 INR. But PAR result will be vary. You must need to go for IQA once you get selected from pool.
3) I haven't seen any people who faced similar kind of issue so far. But i may be wrong. I am submitting my EOI soon, so i dont have better idea.

Thanks for the Input.

One more question.
Exp gained in India is from Indian MNCs(TCS and wipro) and Accenture
For Accenture i can proove that Exp gained is in comparable labour market, as it is Foreign MNC head quartered in Ireland.

How can i proove the same for Indian MNCs?(They are listed in Comparable labour Market)

How are you proceeding with that ? I think you are also from India and EXP gained would be from Indian MNCs

It's upto you whether you would like to believe or not, but here is the official instructions:

INZ Operational Manual Issue Date: Enter date.

Work experience must also have been gained in a labour market that is comparable to the New Zealand labour market unless:
the work experience meets the requirements set out at SM13.20 for work experience in an area of absolute skills shortage; or
the principal applicant has current skilled employment in New Zealand or an offer of skilled employment in New Zealand (see SM7).

EasyBoy,

Regarding point 2 can you brief me with below questions

(2) My wife degree is not present in NZQA Exemption List. She did M.S.C in Microbiology.

My question is can i claim 20 points and submit EOI . If i claim which category?
Or Should i get her qualification assesses by NZQA first ,then claim points and submit EOI

Thanks
