Essential skills visa

Would you be able to assist with the below question,

My wife will be coming to work shortly on an essential skills visa and I will be joining her on a partner visa. Once we are in New Zealand do you know if I would be able to submit my own application for residency while living and working in New Zealand on a partner visa. I would submit my owner application for residency and include my wife as my partner.

Thanks for any assistance in advance.

Hmm wouldn't bet on that for a while with all the Covid-19 restrictions. Gonna be a long while till the government lift the restrictions on the passage of visitors and migrants.

Once you do get here as the partner of a temporary work Visa holder then yes so long as you meet the criteria to be the principal applicant in a resident visa application then of course you can apply and have your wife as the partner on the application.
So long as you have a skilled job offer in nz and minimum 160 points on the EOI.
