Default JSV conversion to RV

Hi Everybody,

I secured a Skilled Migrant Category JSV from India. Now I'm in New Zealand, working in a 12-month contractual job in required profile, working for 40 hours and required pay.

So I dropped my job contract and other details required at Manukau drop box. So I need to know, how much is the current processing time to convert JSV to RV. This I'm asking seeing the current scenario, where it's taking long for INZ to process any type of applications.

Secondly, if 12 month contractual job of same profile will do any help in converting JSV to RV?

Did anybody recently went through the conversion?

Any information will be appreciated.

Processing time for JSV to SMRV is unknown. It is not a specific process that is highlighted by INZ with a guideline of how long it will take to transition from the JSV to the SMRV.
In this case the SMRV is placed on hold for up to 12 months. I assume Immigration will carry out detailed checks in conjunction with your employer and then complete the outstanding processing of the SMRV so I'd assume still up to several months.
You are already living and working in NZ under the T's & C's of the JSV so in the eyes of Immigration there is no rush getting the SMRV approved. All you can do is be patient and wait.

Thanks for the reply, but I had a call at INZ yesterday and CO has been allocated to my file. And I should hopefully listen something in coming weeks. Not sure though in how many weeks
