Smile Talent Visa [Accredited Employer] - Sharing my experience (timelines+cost incl.)

Hi Folks,

I'm so thankful to this forum for helping answer my queries and giving me a high level perspective on things and timeline for my big move to NZ.
It's time for me to give back and share from my side.
Hope it'll be useful for folks going through a similar process.

I applied in the last week of Oct through a Licensed Immigration Adviser.
I highly recommend this if you can afford one even if you're totally tech-savvy and and aware of the process since these folks know what they're doing due to their experience and know subtle tweaks that can help speed up your processing.
They make it very easy for INZ to make a decision by providing complete documentation (some not even mentioned on the site but recommended by them).

My Process:
Once you have the job offer, you'll need eMedical, PCC and documentation from your side before you apply for the fastest response.
This can take anywhere between 3-20 days depending on you.

Location: Mumbai, India
Type: Work-to-Residence - Talent Visa (Accredited Employer)
Applied through: Licensed Immigration Adviser (check INZ website to cross-verify license validity)

Costs:
510 NZD (incl. Visa Fees, Immigrant Levy and VAC fees) -> fees changes after Nov 5th - so check it out the current value on the website.
1000 NZD (Immigration Adviser fees incl courier charges and support for the entire process) - contract was mile-stone based which I loved.
137 NZD ~ 6700 INR (eMedical) @ Rele Clinic (INZ approved) in Mumbai
10 NZD ~ 500 INR (PCC) @ Lower Parel PSK (Passport Seva Kendra office)

Time taken:

It took me about 15 days to get the
i) eMedical - 2.5 hours for Full Medical and Chest X-ray,
ii) PCC - 2 hrs - issued instantly in the PSK if your records are clear (2 stamped copies are issued) and
iii) certified copies of my documents.

15 more days for the consultant to cross-verify and prepare my application.
10 days for INZ to send their decision and issue an eVisa.

Timeline for Visa Processing through INZ
■ Your application has been registered and your payment confirmed by NZVAC at ..... on 29/Oct/2018.
■ Your application was sent to the Immigration New Zealand in ..... for processing on 30/Oct/2018. Please refer “Standard Processing Timeframe” link for information regarding processing time.
■ Your application has been processed by the Immigration New Zealand in ..... and passport sent to NZVAC on 09/Nov/2018.
■ Your application/decision was sent to your nominated address on 09/Nov/2018 by ..... under Airway Bill Number ........

Tips:
  • Understand the process, approx timelines and don't depend on the immigration adviser. The point is to leverage them to create a strong application in the right way while you provide the content and are in control. Don't blindly trust them and always ask questions to understand their recommendation.
  • Carry original passport / other needed docs with copies for every single appointment.
  • Schedule your eMedical, PCC in advance. Medical appointments can take weeks depending on the facility so compare timelines to decide on the fastest one.
  • For eMedical - schedule it in advance, during a weekday in the early morning if you can to avoid the crowd and take your glasses (if you have them) and wear simple clothes (you'll be asked to undress upto you briefs for your physical check).
Blood test and urine samples are taken in succession, so be mentally prepared for this.
For women - don't wear any earrings or metal ornaments for the X-Ray process.
  • Dress well since you'll be photographed for both your eMedical and PCC.
  • The timelines on the INZ website are approx values. Be patient with the process since it can take whatever time it takes due to multiple entities involved. Follow-up with your adviser on a regular basis. Sometimes, it's good to verify things from your employer. Thankfully, my Mobility Adviser from the Employer has been very helpful.

I'll also post more updates and tips once I'm in NZ!
If you have any questions about the process for this visa or anything specific - feel free to post here or PM me.
