Default New Zealand SMC- Job Offer

Hi Friends,

We received ITA on December 2017 and lodged resident application on 28/03/2018. Waiting for a case officer. My husband is in the process of getting a permanent job offer in NZ. Would this affect our application anyway? how should we proceed with it?
any ideas/suggestions/similar scenarios?
P.S. EOI 165 points without job offer.

Thanks

Yes. A job offer would allow it to be successful.

Even though you may have 165 points, if your application does not include a job offer, NZ work or NZ study experience your application will not be approved. The best you will get is a job search visa for the principal applicant only.
If you subsequently get a job offer then you need to update your application by informing Immigration and you should then be 'more' eligible for application approval......obviously there's other criteria and requirements you have to meet with regards to partnership, qualifications, medical & police reports etc.

Thank you loads. We are aware of the job search visa that we'll be getting if we meet the criteria. its good to know that a Job offer would affect positively.

Cheers,
Keerthi

I am in New Zealand and have Job Search Visa. In order to convert my visa status from Work Visa to PR Visa, what type of Job I have to find?

Some people says that I have to find Permanent Job and some says that I have to find at least one year fix term contract job. That is very difficult to get and challenging.

Let say if I get 3 month contract Job and it get renewed again in future based on my performance...Can I convert my Visa status to PR?

Please guide.

Needs to be a written permanent job offer in an occupation that Immigration classes as skilled. it also has to be for a minimum of 12 months which makes it permanent in the eyes of Immigration.
No you cannot use smaller contracts of say 3 months that all add up to a year or more. The written job offer MUST be for a minimum contract of 12 months or more.

Also......it is not PR. You mean Resident Visa which is still a permanent class of visa but it is not PR. That is only available after you have held RV for minimum 2 years.

If you have 2 years of skilled work experience in NZ you should then qualify for the Resident Visa even if you don't have a job offer assuming you score enough points on the EOI of course - you need minimum 160 for it to be selected.

What if I got the Job on contract for three months and my same employer keep renew the contract due to my skills demand, this shows that my employment is ongoing and sustainable. In this can I convert my visa into Resident Visa?
