I am having MCA,BSC computer science(MAths,Statistics and computer science), Is the bonus points listed under MCA or BSC. Some are saying If they consider MCA as level 9, will not eligible for LTSSL. I hope you will help me on query.
It all depends on the requirements stated for the LTSSL occupation - have a look in the appropriate column. The majority of them state Bachelors Degree level not anything higher meaning the higher level degree does not meet the requirements meaning you are unable to claim the LTSSL bonus points. It isn't as clean cut as that though as you can still get the points if you have sufficient work experience but that work experience has to be in a comparable labour market and all that jazz. Have a look at Immigrations Operations Manual as this may give you further detail of how Immigration look at it and the rules they must follow.

Hi all,
I have completed Bsc Mathematics and MCA. Since they are two different branches, will I be able to get level 9 for MCA? Is there any transcript to be provided to NZQA for these degrees?
I have my IELTS score valid till jan 6 2020. Will it be possible to get the EOI lodged prior to the expiry of the IELTS score? I will start my IQA assessment next week. Kindly advise.

You may get Level 9 for the MCA ? You will only know by having the assessment.
If you undertake IQA you will need to provide full details of the degrees inc transcripts.
It is possible you could have the assessment completed in time for you to submit EOI before your IELTS expires but you need to move fast. Immigration and other governmental departments like NZQA move to skeleton staff in early December and lots of businesses have a statutory 2 week close down over Christmas and New Year as it is summer holiday time. The company I work for close offices 21st December through to 6th January.
For your IELTS to count you need to have the EOI submitted electronically before the expiry date of the IELTS.

Hi All,

I have few queries

I currently have 165 points
Breakdown of 165 points
Age - Less than 39
Work Experience - 7 years (IT experience - 6 Years)
LTSSL Exp - 2 to 5 years
Degree - BE (Computer Science) and MBA (Information Technology - Computers)
IELTS - Above 7.5 (Overall)

Spouse:

IELTS - 6.5
Qualification - MSC IT (Level 9)

So with all these, I get 165 points and I hope I have calculated everything fine.

My biggest queries are:

1. All my work experience is from India - Wipro Technologies and since my job code in the ANZSCO 263111 list, will my work experience from India be counted to get points. Cos, once one told me that I cannot claim work experience if my work exp is from India and not from comparable labour market

2. My company (Wipro) would not give my work experience in the company letter head and instead, I have to ask my lead to write an email to me. In the email (official with the company logo in it), he will explain the roles and responsibilties to (as mentioned in the ANZSCO job role). Along with this, I will also ask him to provide me his official (Wipro) business card, get all my papers (Joining, Promotion, Appreciation, Hike, Bonus, Reference letter (containing the dates of my employment and the status in the company letter head) from my employer, Business Card, my ID card) and the same with my spouse's as well.
Also, as my employer will not list the R&R in the company letter head, I have also got a mail confirmation from my company HR (official email) that Wipro does not give out the R&R in the company letter head. So will these be accepted by the CO while rewarding points to Work Experience and Absolute Skill Shortage points

3. Can I also claim points for my MBA degree (Level 9) given by NZQA to my application

4. Let's say that I file an EOI and got the ITA, I know I have to submit all the necessary docs and after I do that, when should I likely be paying the visa fees

5. Lastly, will only a JSV be offered in all cases or sometimes a RV also could be offered. Cos, what I'm planning is to convey to the CO that I cannot leave my spouse alone here (as my family is now in Ireland except my spouse and I) in the form of an affidavit

So yes, these are my queries and I would really be grateful to someone who can answer my queries and help me further on this.

I'm from Chennai, India and I have not travelled anywhere outside India.

1. For the absolute skill shortage bonus points, your work experience must either be:
(a) Gained in a comparable labour market....
India isn't a comparable labour market but if Wipro Technologies is part of a wider organisation that is registered in a country that is a comparable labour market then that counts, OR
(b) the experience is in an occupation listed on the LTSSL AND you meet all the requirements for that occupation in column 3 of the list.

You only have to meet one of these conditions to claim the bonus points.

2. Unknown. Nobody can tell you if the case officer will or won't accept that evidence. Only the case officer can tell you that. it is accepted (or not) at their discretion.

3. You should claim your highest level degree in the application which is the one that will give you most points. You should also mention your Bachelor degree as that is required to meet the requirements of the LTSSL occupation.

I have your score at 160 points given the information provided. Still sufficient to get the EOI selected.

4. Once you send in your ITA submission with all the evidences etc it'll take approx 2-4 weeks until Immigration confirm receipt and that is the time you will be charged the fee.

5. Because you do not have an NZ job offer or any NZ work / study experience you WILL NOT be approved RV. That cannot happen as you don't meet the criteria for approval as you don't have an NZ job offer or any NZ work / study experience. You need to have one of these in addition to at least 160 points on the EOI.
In your case, and again at the discretion of the Immigration case officer you may be offered JSV.
You can plead your case all you want and state that you cannot possibly leave your partner, kids, dog, next doors cat etc etc but Immigration will not take it in to consideration. Rules are rules. This is NZ Immigration Law and there is zero leniency or zero discretion allowed in the policy. The rules state that the principal applicant may be offered JSV and that means ONLY the Principal applicant.....period!
Doesn't mean your partner cannot travel with you on say a Visitor Visa though, however your partner would have to abide by the rules of their specific visa at all times and it would be temporary. Unlikely you'd be able to find a temporary visa for them that would last sufficient time matching the duration of the JSV but a partner can travel.....they just wouldn't be able to travel on a JSV and they'd have to be geared up to leave after 3 or 6 months, depending on the conditions of their temporary visa.

Below are the points which I will obtain I guess

1. Age - 20 - 39 (38) - 30 Points
2. Skilled Employment - Not Applicable since I don't have experience working in New Zealand
3. Qualification - Level 9 or 10 Postgrad - 70 Points (I have completed Master of Computer Applications (MCA) in 2004 in India but my course is not in the current exception list but it was in previous exception list.

4. Work Experience - 10+ Years in IT - 50 Points
Absolute Skills shortage - 6+ years in software testing - 15 Points

5. Partner - Recognized qualification - Level 9 or 10 - 20 Points (My Partner has completed Master of Science in Computer Science in India)

Total Points will be 185

I have below queries now

a. Can I refer previous exception list or only current exception list for qualification?
b. Do I need to go for PAR for both myself and spouse before submitting EOI?
c. Will I get 70 Points for my educational qualification?
d. My partner hasn't completed IELTS or PTE so is it mandatory for the dependant to complete language eligibility before submitting EOI or by the time I receive ITA she will complete language eligibility. So can I apply EOI now or do I need to wait till she completes language eligibility?

2. You can claim points under Long Term shortage skills as ICT-Project Manager is in that list. I did the same and got the relevant points.
3. I doubt M.Sc (Chemistry) would be awarded Level 9 qualification. Again, you may check other links in this forum.

You cant.
Your experience is either in a comparable labour market or it isn't.
There is a list of countries on the INZ website that are comparable labour markets so if your company is registered in one of those countries or principal company (if yours is a subsidiary) then your experience was gained in a comparable labour market.
If you cant prove your experience was gained in a comparable labour market then theres no magic formula to make it so. It just means you cant claim for those additional points as your experience doesn't meet the criteria.

IQA allows up to 4 or 5 qualifications assessed per applicant so if you've already done it for MCA, received the assessment and failed to add the BSC you'll probably have to start a new application and pay the fee again. Theres no harm in asking NZQA if you can add the BSC to your previous application, maybe by saying you thought you added it or you just forgot. They can only say no but theres a chance you could get away without having to pay another $750 or whatever the fee is nowadays.
