Default NZQA: Partner Qualification

Hi

I am new on this forum and Planning to start my new Zealand immigration process under Skill Migrant Category.

According to SMC I can claim partner point if she has recognized qualification. My wife is BSc.Hons in Applied Chemistry (3 years) and MSc in Applied Chemistry (1 years). However she dose not have any work experience. Her degree has already gone through NZQA PAR and get equivalence to level 7.

According to Immediate Skill Shortage List her qualification is under "Chemist (including Analytical Chemist) (234211)"

My questions are as follows:

1) Can I claim partner qualification point based on foresaid explanation
2) Does her qualification consider as recognized qualification

Thanks & Regards
Osama

Hi and welcome to the forum.

1) Yes, but only if she also meets the basic English language requirement as a principal applicant (the same as you), so IELTS minimum overall 6.5 or a letter from the university stating her study completed entirely in English.
2) Yes it is considered recognized when NZQA assessment completed and notification of its equivalent Level received.
