Default How to apply for ILE when making settlement visa

Hello I will be making my visa to settle in the UK in April. I will be doing so online from the US. My wife is present and settled in England and I took and passed my life in the UK test while visiting her. We have been living together for 7 years almost four of those married. We will have been married 4 years in July of this year a few months shy of the requirement by the UK. My questions are, should I request ILE being as I am very close to the required time married outside of the UK? Also how do you request ILE when required to make your application for settlement online? Thank you for any help.

Also forgot to add that I cannot wait till July to file as we have a daughter to care for that is present and settled with my wife in the UK as well. It is important for me to be there to help.

You don't need to apply specifically for ILE. If you qualify for ILE, you get it automatically. Since you've been living 7 years combined as unmarried partner and as spouse, you apply as spouse and your period of as unmarried partner will bring your total period of cohabitation to over 4 years, hence you should get ILE automatically. It's the same forn in any case and the details of what you enter should automatically trigger the grant of ILE.

On Settlement visa application form (VAF4A), you enter details of your cohabitation, with dates, in answer to the question:

8.4.12 Have you lived with your sponsor in a relationship
like a marriage or civil partnership at any time (including
since a wedding or civil partnership ceremony)?

and you provide documentary evidence of cohabitation prior to marriage, such as joint bank account, joint tenancy, utility bills addressed to both etc.
